Italian wine cafe to open in Nottingham

A new cafe specialising in Italian food and wine is to open in Nottingham’s Lace Market.

Veeno will focus on the Italian tradition of apperitivo – a pre-dinner drink and light bite.

Diners will be able to sample platters of meat and cheeses, imported directly from Italian producers, whilst wines will come from co-founder and director Nino Caruso’s family vineyard.

The new cafe will be the country’s fifth Veeno. The growing chain was set up in 2013 by Nino and his friend Andrea Zecchino. The first restaurant opened in Manchester and there are also branches in Leeds, Liverpool and York.

Nino said: “We’re delighted to be introducing the concept of Aperitivo to Nottingham. It’s an exciting leap as we expand from the North into the Midlands. Our current venues have really created a buzz and we feel that Nottingham is really missing out!”

The Nottingham cafe will create 15 new jobs.

Veeno will open its doors at 15 Middle Pavement on Thursday 8 October.
