The departure of Oscar and Rosie’s from Nottingham’s Das Kino may have left a gaping pizza-shaped hole in the city’s bar scene but a young Nottingham chef is hoping to fill the void.
Cocktails, ping-pong and pizza were all on the menu at the launch of new Fletchergate bar Das Kino last night.
The bar, formerly Escucha, opened its doors for a sneak preview before its official opening tomorrow.
Retaining a similar layout to its predecessor it’s been stripped back and given a more urban, industrial feel.
Following in the footsteps of London club Bounce, Nottingham’s newest bar is to introduce a spot of table tennis to the city.
Das Kino will open in what was formerly Escucha, in Fletcher Gate, on September 13.
As well as five ping-pong tables it will also feature a 1950s-style photo booth and a menu boasting cocktails and handmade pizza.
It’s all about the Ps at new Hockley restaurant Pilot. Not the mushy, mint sauce kind but pizza, Prosecco and, er, poultry. The menu is simple and understated, much like the décor – sticking to a few old favourites with a modern twist. Aside from the Prosecco on tap, which was 2 for 1 when we visited, the restaurant’s main USP is its rotisserie chicken.
